Dear Renaissance Musicians
Please be reminded that all students must use the Red Door Booking System for all music rehearsal requests. The Music Team is doing its best to check all rehearsal spaces daily; however, there are increasing concerns that equipment and instruments are being moved around without permission, rooms are being left in a mess, and breakages are not being reported to the Music Team. Everyone has a role in keeping our music rehearsal spaces in good condition. Please work with us and show respect.
Thank you
Do you have regular checkups at the dentist's? Did you know that bacteria digesting food particles left on teeth produce acids, and these acids cause cavities?
Dear RC Community,
Just like the Mosquito Busters 2.0, we are also a group of Year 9 Science students who have been learning all about pathogens and the infectious diseases they cause as a part of the DISEASE Unit of Study. We are organising a charity drive for oral hygiene items such as dental floss, mouthwash, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. These items will be given to Hanuman Charity, who will help distribute them to the homeless in East TST. By using dental hygiene items, the homeless can reduce the chances of developing cavities. Since they don't regularly visit dentists, this is really important to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
The collection period will be from 26th May to 9th June. The oral hygiene items can be dropped off in clearly labelled collection boxes outside the G/F Reception Office. Because the homeless often have to carry all their belongings with them, we confirmed with Hanuman Charity that travel-size products are preferable. You can help by donating the stated items and by helping to spread the word!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us through Ms. Fan at fanw3@rchk.edu.hk
Sincerely,
Lily, Holly, Charlene, Roxanne, Thelma, and Avery (The Y9 Dental Defenders)

Game experience trip at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan
Our IB Career-related Programme partner institute World Academy of Sports is offering this truly unique opportunity for our student leaders to experience the 2026 Asian Games in Japan first-hand.
The Games Experience Programme (GEP), delivered jointly by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) and Shigakkan University, is a four-day international sport leadership immersion taking place in Nagoya, Japan from 29 September – 2 October 2026.

It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to engage directly with a real-world global sporting event — to observe elite athletes in preparation and competition, gain behind-the-scenes insight into event operations, and participate in expert-led masterclasses delivered by international sport leaders.
The GEP is designed to support the development of IB students in Year 10, 11, and 12 students who are interested in sport, leadership, global engagement, and event management.
Through the GEP, students will:
Hosted at Shigakkan University — an institution with roots dating back to 1905 and a strong philosophy of holistic wellness and global citizenship — the programme integrates academic insight with authentic exposure to one of the world’s largest multi-sport events.
The GEP is designed as a global leadership credential and portfolio-enhancing experience for high-potential IB students seeking meaningful international engagement.
Please find the brochure for your reference, with full details available at www.istudy.sport/gep2026. Please note that flights and local transportation to the venue are not included in the original quotation. Expressions of Interest are now open. Early bird packages with 10% discount are available until 29 May 2026.
If you are interested in signing up for this trip, please contact our IBCP Coordinator Ms. Wilma Shen on or before this Friday, 29 May at shenw1@rchk.edu.hk.
Our objective is to increase awareness of the many types of cardiovascular disease within the RCHK and broader Hong Kong community.
To achieve this, we are partnered with Heartwarming Initiative Charitable Foundation, an NGO who conducts free cardiovascular health screening in the community. Our founding members have completed past volunteering events with them in January (at the RCHK Family Fun Day) and March.
We are currently hosting signups for learners (& volunteers) to join this year. We will provide a condensed curriculum about the cardiovascular system before we teach about cardiovascular disease.
Learners may volunteer beginning next year (the 2026-2027 school year) or over the Summer depending on availability for service. Learners will also be able to produce informational material or projects researching specific interventional technology or promising developments in cardiovascular health to be shared on social media or other platforms.
If you are passionate about the issue of cardiovascular disease or public health and want to support our efforts, please sign up via this form before or on Friday, May 29th!
For further information, please contact wuk13@rchk.edu.hk.
